business awards is a hotly anticipated event among the business community and impressing the elite within these companies is no mean feat. working alongside south west wales media and media wales, we were tasked with staging a slick and professional corporate business awards at the brangwyn hall where 43 businesses and 500 guests would be in attendance, the media group’s biggest business awards to date. the solution utilising the large staging area in the brangwyn hall, we installed a 20’ x 11’3” screen within a trilite 200 ‘a’ frame and complemented this with white panels either side, complete with the event logo printed in vinyl and placed directly onto the panels. we also had to make sure that our set also complemented the led panels that the client had sourced and wanted to utilise either side of the set, so we installed return panels to fully incorporate these. vision was rear projected using our christie hd projector and the screen content was seamlessly switched between presentation and live camera during the show. we also assisted the events team in the production of the event presentation for the night by producing the slide content. we used a variety of lighting from moving beams to a mix of led lighting around the room and on the set, including our mac 250 moving lights complete with custom event branded gobos, which looked great moving around the hall during the event. the result the event was extremely well received by all who attended and the south west wales media event team were very happy with the hard work and professionalism that was put into the event. bristol post & bath chronicle women of the year awards the task this year’s bristol post and bath chronicle women of the year awards was held at a brand new venue in bristol - the bristol harbour hotel - and therefore the challenge for us was to ensure that our set and staging provided enough room for all in attendance while ensuring we hit the brief of a clean and modern staging area. the solution after visiting the venue prior to the event, we installed a 12ft high set that didn’t look out of place in the gorgeous sansovino hall with its high glass ceiling. we used a mix of red 12ft panels to house the screens and white panels in the centre of the set to create a centralised presentation area. we also created a 12ft stage graphic branded for the event to be placed in the centre of the set. we installed two 9ft 16:9 screens and used front projection to better utilise the space and allow more guests to attend the event, something which was important to our client. two lcd 50” monitors were placed in the room showing a digital table plan for guests which was created by our team alongside the presentation on the night. all these elements encompassed the branding and ensured that, from programme and set graphic to presentation, the branding remained consistent. using our bose 802 speakers complete with bose 502 base bins and w audio kit, we could also ensure that sound in the high ceiling room wasn’t going to echo and could be clearly heard by all in attendance. the result the result was a clean and contemporary set which looked great in the room, providing enough space for all attendees. we received positive feedback from the event and the client loved that we could assist with their requirements from the creation of table plans on monitors to front projection. nottingham post carer of the year awards the task s one of the smallest events that we produce and with a tight budget, our task was to create value for money and ensure that, even on a budget, a fantastic looking set can be created which honours and wows all in attendance. the solution by using frame set panels in grey and a single screen, we could create a substantially sized staging area on a budget that still looked great in the room. we uplit the grey frame set skins with led batons in event colours and finished the set with impact sails either side to create more depth and shape. by using two mac 250 moving lights complete with custom ‘nottingham post’ gobos, we were further able to brand the event but also create that extra special ‘wow’ factor for attendees. our client also requested a photo backdrop to further promote their sponsors and provide a background for photographs and so we produced a repeated sponsor graphic, printed on high grade paper (and therefore keeping the cost down) which we then clipped to a trilite 100 frame and placed a small red carpet in front of to give it that special touch. the result even for an event on a tight budget, we were able to create a high-quality result which rightly honoured and wowed attendees. by simplifying in areas such as the set we were able to keep costs down but still able to retain that high-quality feel by using custom gobos and a mix of lighting and graphics. overall, the client was extremely happy with the result. hall & woodhouse annual agm and awards dinner the task we have worked alongside our external client hall & woodhouse for many years now and each year our task is to provide two staging and set areas, one for their agm during the day and awards dinner in the evening.both sets required a very different feel, so we needed to ensure we provided something that worked for the corporate day event, and provided a celebratory party feel for the evening. the solution for the day conference, we used frame set panels with grey skin coverings which we up-lit in the hall & woodhouse green colour scheme. we completed the set with two 6’ x 4’6” screens. we were also asked to record the conference during the day by utilising our video presentation service which uses pip (picture in picture) technology to capture a live video of the presenter and their presentation slides in one complete video. this is a great referencing tool for those who were unable to attend the conference and can even be uploaded to the company intranet. for the evening awards dinner (complete with its rio drinks branding), weinstalled into a marquee a small trilite set and staging area. we placed one single pole lectern on the stage complete with lectern logo and used a variety of lighting around the marquee in an assortment of colours in keeping with the multicolour ‘rio’ theme. around the marquee we also placed four 50” lcd monitor screens, relaying the company logo as well as additional slides for the evening. the result hall and woodhouse were extremely happy with the event and their operations support manager duncan rouse commented: ‘your team, as always, were superb and as i said to them on the day, they manage to make us look a lot more professional than we really are! nothing is ever too much trouble for them and it is a relief to know that we are
